Double Punches Boxing Club provides local youth with a social outlet away from streets, drugs and gangs. Our program meets young people’s need for recognition and re-channels their energy through boxing lessons, one to one mentoring and academic tutoring. Our goal is to reach out to more low income, academic underachieving at risk youth in Sonoma County.
Our program offers homework assistance. Youth come in an hour before their boxing workout to do homework with tutorial assistance provide by students from local volunteers. Tutorial assistance is offered either by subject matter or related to homework assignments. These tutors also serve as mentor to the youth.
The boxing component of our program stresses fundamentals, discipline and skills rather than brute force and toughness. The sport of boxing along with personal tutoring, counseling and mentoring help youth keep good grades and improve social skills to keep them off the streets, out of gangs and away from drugs as they excel both physically and academically.
So, how can you contribute to our program? By making a donation. Your tax-deductible contribution can put our young people back on the right track. your donations also provide boxing equipment, academic supplies and a scholarship to our graduating youth. Your contribution can make a difference.
